Early years teaching assistant; full time Axcis Education are looking for a early years teaching assistant to support students with additional needs on a full time basis. Hours are 8:30 - 3:30 Monday to Friday and term time only for fixed term contract. The school is located close to Laurence Hill station in Bristol, so is relatively close to the centre and of easy access for anyone who has to use a bus to get around. The school is part of a larger network of schools in Bristol and could lead to more contract work around the trust for the right person. We are looking for; - Someone that can show lots of empathy and understanding but also be firm on behaviour and expectations on learning. Many students at this school can present with difficult behaviours either from their diagnosis or disadvantaged background. - Great with young children, and fine with the odd occasion of toileting should any children need help. - An adaptive and flexible nature would be a great skill to have since no day is going to be the same. - The ideal person would need to be able to work well on their own but also as part of a team as well, communicating effectively with the school SENCO and the class teacher to make sure learning objectives are achieved as much as possible.
