Position: Teaching Assistant (Autism Support) Location: Bristol (Easton) Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30 Start Date: April Pay: Starting from £94 per day Axcis Education, a leading provider of special educational needs staffing solutions in the education sector, is currently recruiting on behalf of a primary school in Bristol (Easton) for a dedicated Teaching Assistant. This rewarding role involves supporting a young girl who is awaiting an autism diagnosis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing the necessary support, establishing clear boundaries, and being a consistent figure for the student. Key Responsibilities: -Provide one-to-one support to the student, assisting with their educational and emotional needs. -Implement strategies and interventions to support the student's learning and development. -Establish clear boundaries and routines to create a structured and nurturing environment. -Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to the student's support. -Monitor and record the student's progress, adapting support strategies as needed. Requirements: -Experience working with children or young individuals with autism is highly desirable. -A patient and compassionate approach, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust. -Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with the student, school staff, and parents. -Resilience and adaptability in providing consistent support, even in challenging situations. -Relevant qualifications or training in autism support or special educational needs (SEN) would be advantageous.
