Job Title: 1-1 Learning Support Workers.
Axcis are working with a FE College on the outskirts of Bristol who are looking for 1-1 Learning Support Assistants to work with students with Autism (ASD) and/or Mild/ Moderate Learning Difficulties as well as some students with more complex needs or those who display more challenging behaviour. As part of the day to day role, you will support the students with their studies and assist them if necessary with their daily routine. The college has a very friendly atmosphere and a nurturing & supportive environment. The students thrive within this college where they are given a lot of time, support, encouragement and opportunity to learn and develop. The positions available are to support students aged between 17-25 on a 1:1 basis with some options for group support also. The college offer a very flexible timetable dependant on the needs of the students. There are full time Monday - Friday 0830-1600 hours, part time 2/3 mornings a week hours and everything in between so there is something for everyone! You will be a role model, mentor and daily support to your student so the ability to build rapport and trust is essential. You will need to be adaptable, flexible and you must have an understanding of working with young adults with special educational needs and disabilities and have a real desire to make a difference.
