We are looking for an experienced and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming school in L36, working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. This is a PAYE position, offering competitive pay of £85-£90 per day. About the Role: You will provide tailored support for a reception-aged child who is non-verbal and finds transitioning between activities challenging. The child is not aggressive or displaying challenging behaviour but requires structured guidance to follow their personalized timetable and meet their developmental targets. Your Responsibilities: Delivering small, focused interventions to help the child reach key milestones. Using Makaton and speech & language strategies to support communication. Incorporating sensory play and physical activities to keep the child engaged. Encouraging smooth transitions between tasks and activities. Working collaboratively with the class teacher and TA team, showing initiative and flexibility to pick up additional tasks as needed. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with non-verbal children and knowledge of Makaton. Familiarity with sensory diets and bucket therapy is a plus. An energetic, hands-on approach, with the ability to connect through messy play and active engagement. A compassionate and patient individual who thrives in a supportive role.
