1:1 Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision Location: Exeter, Devon Hours: Full-time | Monday to Friday | 08:30–15:00 Pay: £94–£100 per day Driving Licence: Preferred, but not essential Make a Lasting Difference Every Day Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve their potential? We're looking for a caring and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming alternative provision in Exeter. In this rewarding role, you'll provide personalised support to one student, both within the classroom and through community-based learning. You'll help them build confidence, develop essential life skills, and make meaningful progress academically, socially, and emotionally. Your Responsibilities As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will: • Provide tailored one-to-one support that meets the student's individual learning and wellbeing needs. • Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where the student can thrive. • Deliver a variety of learning activities, including structured lessons, practical projects, and play-based learning. • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records to support ongoing development. • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs). • Encourage independence, resilience, and positive social interactions. • Support and manage challenging behaviour using positive strategies and school policies. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: • Patient, compassionate, and committed to helping young people succeed. • A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills. • Adaptable and able to respond positively to changing situations. • Available Monday to Friday, 08:30–15:00. • Experienced in SEND or education (desirable but not essential). • A driver with a full UK licence (preferred but not required).
