Axcis Education is working with a specialist alternative provision in Bristol that supports young people who have struggled to engage with mainstream education. Role Summary
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
Work directly with students who struggle to engage or manage behaviour in mainstream settings, supporting their social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Use a relational, motivational approach to build trust and connection: you will mentor individuals, facilitate small-group sessions and work proactively on behaviour strategies and routines.
Apply quick-thinking, structured and clear approaches when behaviours escalate or routines are disrupted, helping students regain focus and engage positively.
Collaborate closely with class teams, pastoral leads and senior staff to implement behaviour support plans, track progress and review interventions.
Draw on your background in team-building, leadership or motivational roles (for example military, policing, sports coaching) to engage students, build resilience, model positive habits and help them succeed.
Promote inclusion and ensure that every student has access to education, feeling safe, supported and valued.
