Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker
Position: Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Halifax
Hours: Full-Time, 35.5 per week, term time only
Pay rate: £95.00 - £110.00 per day depending on experience.
Axcis Education are seeking a experienced Behaviour Support Workers to work with an Alternative Provision based in Halifax. The school caters for a diverse group of learners aged 11 to 16, with social, emotional, mental health needs, who have been removed from mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities:
To plan and deliver targeted interventions to support students to develop academic progress and self-esteem.
To be aware of and support difference, ensuring all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
To establish positive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model.
To build supportive relationships with parents and other schools and agencies to promote effective working relationships.
To support students who are in crisis, using a variety of de-escalation techniques
Qualifications and Requirements:
Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs in an education setting
A passion for supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
Patience, resilience, and a calm demeanour, especially in challenging situations.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment.
