Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker
Behaviour Support Worker Cheltenham Long-term, Full-time Axcis Education work closely with a special school in Cheltenham, who pride themselves on delivering exceptional educational services to primary aged children. They aim to provide individualized learning experiences that cater to the unique needs of all students at the school, all of whom have a primary diagnosis of Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs alongside Attachment issues and Autism. The service are seeking passionate and motivated Behaviour Support Workers to provide specialist support to the children, both academic and pastoral support where necessary. Responsibilities: - Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with varying needs, including those with special educational needs (SEN). - Assist with the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). - Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to tailor support strategies for each pupil. - Encourage and assist pupils with their academic work, with a focus on promoting independence. - Offer emotional and pastoral support, aiding in the development of social skills and confidence. - Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback and suggesting adjustments to learning approaches as required. - Participate in training and development sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills. - Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding procedures, and educational regulations. The Ideal Candidate: - A graduate with a passion for education and a keen interest in supporting young learners. - Individuals with a background in youth work or those who possess experience in education, SEN support, or related fields. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport and positively influencing pupils. - An empathetic and patient individual with the ability to adapt to learners' varying needs and learning styles. - A proactive problem-solver with creative approaches to educational support. - A team player with the ability to work independently when necessary. Qualifications and Requirements: - A degree or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential. - Experience working with primary - aged pupils, in an educational setting or similar environment. - An enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to undergo DBS checks. - Legal right to work in the UK.
