**Job Description:**
As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting the development of children aged 0-5 years. You will work closely with our team of educators to create a safe and stimulating environment where our young learners can thrive.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist in the delivery of creative and engaging activities that support the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
- Support children’s learning and development, including language, communication, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Work with individual children or small groups under the direction of the classroom teacher to reinforce learning activities.
- Help to prepare the learning environment by setting up necessary materials and resources.
- Observe, assess and record each child’s progress, sharing outcomes with the class teacher.
- Provide a caring and supportive presence, ensuring the children’s well-being at all times.
- Assist with the supervision of children during snack times, free play, and outdoor activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions amongst the children.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, adhering to health and safety policies.
- Engage effectively with parents and carers, providing feedback on their child's day and progress when appropriate.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
**Requirements:**
- Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualification in Childcare/Education is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with children in an early years setting.
- Sound understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A caring, patient, and approachable demeanor suited to working with young children.
- Enhanced DBS check (current or willingness to undertake one).
- First Aid qualification specific to early years is a plus.
