Job Title: HLTA's
A lovely secondary school in North Somerset are looking for a HLTA to start ASAP.
For this role, the ideal candidate will:
- have a HLTA qualification
-be kind, empathetic and patient
-be able to build an engaging learning environment that students enjoy being in
-be able to adapt your teaching approach to meet the needs of various students
You will work with the same students every week. You will not be responsible for planning, as the class teacher will provide you with the work they will be doing. You will have your own space with a teacher's desk, a large table for students, a white board and
other teaching resources. This is a temporary role until the summer.
Please note that for this role, you will need to have an enhanced DBS on the update service, or be able to get one.
You will be working with a small group of students who have a range of special education needs (SEND).
Most of these students have strong computer skills and as part of your role you will support them to teach their peers to develop confidence and independence. You will be working closely with two classroom TAs who have a strong relationship with the students and will be able to support you as the classroom teacher.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEND students and will be qualified as an SEND teacher, however teachers with QTS may also be considered. The role is full time, Monday to Friday 8.30 to 3.30.
