Job Title: Key Stage 2 HLTA
Axcis Education are working with a popular and well-regarded Primary school to the North of Central Leeds who are currently looking for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in LKS2 supporting pupil learning, development and emotional needs. The role is initially for two terms, but could become a permanent role for the right applicant. The school would be in a position to take on applicants before Christmas if availability allows.
Although you will spend the majority of time with the yr 4 Class, you will be expected to work across the Primary range with children between the ages of 5-11 years. It is essential, therefore that you have an understanding of pupil learning from EYFS to KS2. You must also have a solid understanding of working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities. In order to take on the HLTA responsibilities you must be qualified to Level 4 or above in a relevant Supporting Teaching or Education-Specific subject
The hours are 8:30 - 3:30pm approximately, although occasionally you may be required to attend after school training and events. The role is for the rest of the Academic year, from January.
