Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary SEND – Barking & Dagenham £120–£145 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Barking & Dagenham Axcis Education is recruiting a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within a primary school in Barking & Dagenham, supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs across the school. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced TA or HLTA who is comfortable taking on additional responsibility, including leading small groups, delivering interventions and providing classroom cover where required. The school is looking for someone who can be proactive, organised and confident supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs and additional learning difficulties. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO, helping pupils access learning while promoting confidence, independence and positive behaviour. About the Role - Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 - Working with children with Autism, ADHD and additional learning needs - Leading small-group interventions - Delivering targeted support in English, Maths and wider curriculum areas - Providing classroom cover when required - Supporting pupils against EHCP targets and individual learning plans - Helping pupils with focus, communication and emotional regulation - Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff - Encouraging pupils to become more independent in their learning About You We would particularly like to hear from candidates who: - Have previous experience as a HLTA or experienced Teaching Assistant - Are confident leading small groups and interventions - Have experience supporting pupils with SEND - Can manage a classroom confidently when required - Are proactive, organised and able to use initiative - Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear expectations - Hold an HLTA qualification or CACHE Level 3 – desirable but not essential - Can commit to a full-time, long-term role The School & Location The role is based within a primary school in Barking & Dagenham, with good transport links from Barking, Dagenham, Ilford, Romford and surrounding East London areas.
