Job Title: Hoist Experience Teaching Assistant
School-Based Carer – Year 2 Girl (N12, North Finchley) Full-Time | Term Time Only | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm We are seeking a caring, dependable, and experienced School-Based Carer to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with physical disabilities at a welcoming and inclusive primary school in North Finchley (N12). Key Responsibilities Provide dedicated, compassionate care and support throughout the school day. Assist with personal care needs in a respectful and sensitive manner. Support with mobility, transfers, and access across the school site. Use a hoist and follow correct manual handling procedures at all times. Encourage participation in classroom learning and social activities. Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external therapists to ensure consistent, high-quality care. Essential Requirements Proven experience providing personal care and supporting individuals with physical needs. Up-to-date training in hoist use and manual handling (or willingness to update). A calm, patient, and proactive approach with strong communication skills. Commitment to inclusion, dignity, and safeguarding. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
