Axcis Education is currently seeking a committed Learning and Care Support Assistant to join a SEND college in Harrow (HA3). This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with healthcare experience who are looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). As a Learning and Care Support Assistant (LCSA), you will play a key role in ensuring that students' physical, emotional, and educational needs are met. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND in both classroom and care settings. • Assist with personal care, including manual handling and peg feeding (training provided). • Support students with challenging behavior, ensuring a safe and supportive environment. • Assist with epilepsy care and other specific health needs (training provided). • Collaborate with teaching staff to meet students' individual learning and care needs. • Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of students throughout the school day. • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required. Skills and Experience: • Previous experience in healthcare or care roles is highly desirable. • Ability to understand and support the unique needs of students with SEND. • Training in manual handling, peg feeding, challenging behavior, and epilepsy care is required (training will be provided if needed). • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Patient, empathetic, and passionate about promoting students’ development and well-being. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Flexibility with working hours and schedules.
