Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – EBSA / SEMH / Re-engagement Support Location: Gravesham Start Date: 3rd September 2025 Hours: Monday to Friday | Term Time Only About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Gravesham, working with students who require tailored support to re-engage with education. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in supporting pupils with Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and re-engagement strategies. Key Responsibilities: • Provide individual and small-group support to students struggling to attend or engage in education. • Build trust and positive relationships with pupils to encourage attendance and participation. • Implement trauma-informed strategies and have an understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to create supportive, inclusive learning environments. • Monitor progress and adapt approaches to meet individual needs. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: • Proven experience in a similar role within a school or SEND setting. • Knowledge and understanding of EBSA, SEMH, trauma-informed practice, and ACEs. • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. • A calm, patient, and flexible approach. • The ability to inspire confidence and re-engage learners in education.
