Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?
Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist primary setting in Hampton, TW14. This full-time role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive school environment.
You will support primary-aged pupils with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and complex learning needs. Working closely with teachers and SEND professionals, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Support children with Autism (ASD), ADHD, communication needs, and learning difficulties.
• Assist pupils in accessing lessons and engaging with classroom activities.
• Support emotional regulation, social interaction, and independence skills.
• Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised learning plans.
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years' experience supporting children or young people with SEND.
• Experience working with pupils with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, or complex needs.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
• Ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
