Job Title: Long Term KS1 SEND Teaching Assistant, Smethwick
Are you someone who enjoys making a real difference every day?
We’re looking for a kind, patient, and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Smethwick this September.
This is a full-time, long-term role supporting a small group of children with Autism (ASD). You’ll be working closely with them to help build confidence, develop communication and social skills, and support their learning in a way that suits their individual needs.
What your role will involve:
• Supporting a small group of pupils with ASD during lessons and activities
• Helping to deliver structured routines and clear, consistent communication
• Working with the class teacher and SENCO to follow tailored support plans
• Encouraging positive interactions, independence, and emotional regulation
• Creating a calm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
We’d love to hear from you if you:
• Have previous school-based experience (essential)
• Have experience working with children with SEN, especially ASD
• Are calm, compassionate, and able to adapt to different needs and behaviours
• Are a great communicator and team player
• Have a DBS registered on the Update Service (or are willing to apply for one)
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a school that truly values the difference a great Teaching Assistant can make. You’ll be joining a warm, supportive team and playing a key role in helping children grow in confidence and succeed at school.
If you're ready to start a meaningful role this September, send over your CV today – we can’t wait to hear from you.
