Axcis Education is working with an amazing all-through school in central Exeter who are looking for a secondary School Maths Teacher to work through the autumn term starting in September 2020.
The school is set within extensive wooded grounds where they operate a culture of focus on outdoor learning with a nurturing and holistic approach. From 2020, the school will be transitioning to national curriculum and so the school is currently on a very exciting journey driven by a very passionate and supportive SLT.
This Secondary Maths Teacher position will teach a variable timetable of all year groups across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5. The school have a high proportion of students with SEMH and ASD / ADHD. You will be required to plan and deliver lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities.
" Planning lessons
" Leading a class and providing much needed stability
" Supporting teaching assistants
" Assessing and recording students' progress, preparing reports and taking part in parental consultations
" Undergoing in-service training where required
" Observing and implementing current school policies and good practice
" Contributing to pupil progress across the whole school
The ideal candidate will have
" A flexible and resourceful approach to teaching
" You will be able to demonstrate positive reinforcement
" Recognised teaching qualification PGCE or equivalent (QTS).
" The ability to quickly build positive relationships with both staff and students.
" Strong subject knowledge of the Maths Curriculum
" Experience of working with pupils that require addition behavioural and emotional support.
" A minimum of 12 months of teaching experience
" Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa)
" Enhanced DBS/Police checks
The role will start in September for the Autumn Term.
