We are currently working with a Primary school based in Birkenhead who are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help with the daily management of the classroom. This role would be ideal for graduates looking to use their transferable skills and gain experience as Learning Support Assistant in the Wirral area. It would also suit individuals who are interested in starting a career in education and who can demonstrate initiative, a positive attitude, and a genuine enthusiasm for supporting pupils with special educational needs. Key responsibilities: • Support and supervise pupils with challenging behaviour • Help pupils with their personal care needs and offer guidance on social skills, health, and hygiene. • Take part in assessing pupils to identify those who may need extra help or support. • Assist in providing tailored support for pupils with additional needs. • Build positive one-to-one mentoring relationships with pupils and offer emotional support to those who are upset or struggling. What we need from you: • At least 6 months personal or professional experience supporting adults or children with special educational needs. OR A certified qualification in a relevant area- education, psychology, drama etc • A graduate teaching assistant with a patient, compassionate and positive attitude. • Flexibility to work in school hours- contracts are usually 8:30am until 3-4:30pm depending on the school. • Ability to reliably commute to settings either by driving or public transport.
