Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant (SEND Support) – Primary School
Location: Mainstream Primary Setting
Pay: £14.15 – £14.50 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to provide tailored support for students with SEND, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
Assist in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being
Help adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff
Requirements
Experience working with young people or individuals with SEND is desirable
Experience can be either professional or personal
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children’s development
