Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Primary Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Autism Support
Location: Plymouth
Pay: £94–£98 per day
Start: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, until the end of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent
A lovely primary school in Plymouth is looking for a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil with autism.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with children and can provide calm, consistent and nurturing support throughout the school day.
The Role
Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with autism
Supporting the pupil with their learning, engagement and confidence
Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Building a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil
Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team
Supporting the pupil to develop their independence and social skills
About You
Previous experience working with children is essential
Experience supporting children with autism would be highly desirable
A patient, nurturing and consistent approach
Confident building positive relationships with children
Able to work as part of a supportive school team
Reliable, enthusiastic and committed to the full-time role
