Axcis Education is currently recruiting passionate and dedicated Psychology graduates to work as Teaching Assistants (TAs) in schools across Tameside. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to gain practical experience working with children and young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), before pursuing further studies or careers in education, psychology, social work, or therapy. As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll have the chance to apply this knowledge in a real-world setting by supporting students who may have: ? Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) ? ADHD ? Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs ? Learning difficulties such as Dyslexia and Dyspraxia ? Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) ? Behavioural challenges Your Role as a Teaching Assistant: - Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with additional needs. - Assisting the teacher in delivering lessons and adapting materials for individual learning styles. - Encouraging students' social and emotional development through positive interactions. - Supporting students with emotional regulation, confidence-building, and behaviour management. - Helping to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. - Collaborating with SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), teachers, and external - professionals such as speech therapists and educational psychologists. This role is ideal for aspiring Educational or Clinical Psychologists, Speech and Language Therapists, Social Workers, and Teachers. It provides invaluable hands-on experience working directly with children and young people with a variety of needs.
