Teaching Assistant – SEND Intervention Class – Location: Tiverton, Devon Start Date: September 2025 Contract: Full-time, term-time only Pay: £89–£95 per day (depending on experience) Axcis Education is excited to be working with a secondary school in Tiverton to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant for their SEND intervention class, starting this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a small, specialist group within the mainstream school, supporting students with a range of needs including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health challenges. The intervention class provides a more tailored, nurturing space where students can access learning at their own pace with extra support around emotional regulation and communication. You'll work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to deliver personalised support, build trusting relationships, and help students gain confidence both academically and socially. We're looking for someone with a calm, caring, and proactive approach, someone who can help students feel safe and understood while maintaining clear boundaries and structure. Experience supporting young people with SEND is ideal, but what's most important is your ability to build rapport, stay patient, and support behaviour in a kind but consistent way. If you're looking for a meaningful, full-time role where you can make a real difference, get in touch with Axcis today!

If you are interested, then please click on the apply button and contact Kirsty Chisholm on 01392 949 022 | Ext: 6002.

If you are not interested in this role but know someone else who might be, don't forget that we offer £50 in shopping vouchers if you refer a friend to us and we place them in the job. For more details, contact your local Axcis office.

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer and as such we do not discriminate based on age, gender, disability, race or any other equal opportunities criteria.

The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

As such, you will be required to provide an up to date DBS, or be prepared to allow Axcis to process one on your behalf, in addition to other mandatory compliance checks in line with the DfE guidelines (for details please see our website).

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.

You must be suitably qualified for the position advertised and be prepared to attend a face to face interview with Axcis to demonstrate your suitability for this role.

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.

View the disclaimer

Contact: Kirsty Chisholm

Telephone: 01392 949 022 | Ext: 6002
