Job Title: Secondary School LSA
Teaching Assistant (TA) / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) / Tutor Required - Full Time – “Good” OFSTED rated school - Central Manchester - Business Studies / Law / Politics STARTING: September CONTRACT: Full academic year. I am working with a school in Manchester who are looking to appoint someone to support a lovely, kind, and very intelligent pupil attending who has Aspergers coupled with anxiety and hyper-sensitivity (sensitive to loud noises, smells, and flickering lights) THE ROLE: Start in September and will be working with him throughout his part time schedule at the school. He needs a TUTOR/TA/LSA that is ideally qualified in Politics, Law and/or Business Studies, as you will be required to assist him with understanding the work, and/or helping him identify the class teachers instructions (ie spotting where he is taking something quite literally, or is missing the class teachers inferences etc, as he struggles with this as is detailed on his EHCP) The young person does not present any challenging behaviours, but you would in an ideal world have previous experience of supporting young people on the spectrum. He loves trains, and trainspotting, so (although not at all necessary) if you had any knowledge in this area you would be able to build a successful working relationship with him very quickly. We could potentially look at more than one tutor for each lesson; although ideally wed love to employ one person with qualifications in all subjects, to help with continuity for the pupil. You may also be required to attend review meetings outside the college hours.
