Job Title: Secondary Teaching Assistant
Location: Plymouth Pay: £93–£98 per day Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8.30am–3.30pm Start: ASAP Are you an experienced and confident Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role in Plymouth? We are currently looking for a Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a school-based SEND unit, supporting students with learning disabilities and additional needs. You’ll work closely with students both within the SEND provision and across mainstream lessons, helping them engage with learning and develop their confidence and independence. The Role: - Supporting secondary-aged students with learning disabilities and SEND - Working within the school's dedicated SEND unit - Providing support in lessons across the school - Helping students stay engaged, focused and supported throughout the school day - Building positive and trusting relationships with students - Supporting behaviour and helping students manage challenges appropriately - Setting clear, consistent boundaries while maintaining a calm and positive approach - Working closely with teachers and the wider support team We’re Looking For: - Experienced working with children or vulnerable adults - Confident, resilient and patient - Comfortable supporting students with additional needs - Able to establish clear and consistent boundaries - Calm and confident when managing challenging situations - Positive, approachable and able to build strong relationships - A reliable team player who is committed to supporting students to achieve their potential Previous experience within a school or SEND environment is desirable, but relevant transferable experience working with children or vulnerable adults will also be considered.
