Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties Teaching assistant
Axcis Education are looking for a teaching assistant to work part time and long term with a student in year 6 at a school in Swindon starting as soon as possible. This student has social and emotional difficulties so we are looking for someone that can handle behavioural challenges that are common place for this type of diagnosis with understanding, space and room for the child's personal growth. The ideal person will also need to be consistent with expectations insuring that they are on track with their learning objectives as much as possible. Working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 9am-3pm, so this would suit someone who perhaps has school work experience but needs to do school drop off and pick ups for their own children as well.
Ideally we are looking for someone that has experience in working in a school environment, but would certainly still consider someone that has worked with children but in a different working environment i.e a youth worker. Due to the nature of the work we are looking for someone that can commit to this placement until July 2025 since students of this nature can be sensitive to change and the same person for the school year can give the student a greater sense of routine.
In order to be considered, you will need to have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one as part of the application process.
