Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistants needed in Plymouth Special School
Axcis are working with a school in Plymouth who have a new and exciting opportunity for more than one teaching assistant to join their team. It is a vibrant, well established specialist school with a bright future. They are looking to appoint enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible SEND teaching assistants to join them. You will: • have a passion for working with pupils with additional needs, particularly children with ASC and SEMH. • need to be resilient, compassionate, understanding and above all highly driven towards pupil progression. • be experienced and positive communicators, with a natural ability to work cooperatively within a whole staff environment. • be expected to work outside of the typical classroom environment, including off site work, to encourage their young people to learn. • have a professional, child centred approach to your role, helping their students to make good choices. You will need to have previous experience of working with children, not specifically schools - candidates with youth worker or voluntary sector experience will be considered. You will need to have at least a GCSE grade C / 4 or equivalent in English and Maths. A full driving licence and access to use your own transport is desirable.
