SEMH Wellbeing Mentor – Newton Abbot Full-time | £90–£95 per day | September Start Trauma-Informed Independent School | Secondary-aged Pupils | Must Drive Are you an experienced SEMH practitioner looking for a rewarding new challenge this September? We are recruiting for a full-time SEMH Wellbeing Mentor to join a highly regarded independent school in Newton Abbot. The school supports secondary-aged pupils, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and require specialist SEMH provision. This is a role where you can make a real, lasting difference. The Role: Starting in September, you will play a key role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Working closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team, you’ll help pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience, and positive behaviour through consistent mentoring and structured interventions. Responsibilities include: Delivering 1:1 and small group support sessions Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and engagement Working collaboratively with teaching and therapeutic staff Implementing EHCP targets in daily practice Promoting a safe, inclusive and trauma-informed learning environment The Setting: This is a trauma-informed, independent school with a strong therapeutic ethos. Pupils have often experienced significant challenges and may present with high levels of anxiety, low self-esteem, or behavioural needs linked to trauma, autism, or ADHD.
