Daily Rate: £89 per day
Hours: 8.30am – 3.30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)

Contract: Full-time, with potential for a permanent position
Axcis Education is working with a friendly and inclusive SEN school in Taunton that supports children and young people aged 4–19 with autism, ADHD, and complex learning needs. The school is seeking a flexible Teaching Assistant to work across both its primary and secondary sites, providing 1:1 and small-group support.
This is a varied and rewarding role — ideal for someone patient, proactive, and passionate about helping students reach their potential in a supportive environment.
Your Role:
• Support pupils with autism and additional needs across both sites
• Use visual supports, PECS, or Makaton to aid communication
• Provide calm, consistent support during lessons and transitions
• Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learning
• Help with activities such as outdoor learning, life skills and sensory sessions
• Record progress and share feedback with teachers and families
We’re Looking For:
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND
• Confidence working across primary and secondary age ranges
• Calm, resilient and caring with good teamwork skills
• Knowledge of autism and communication tools (PECS/Makaton) desirable
• DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
