Axcis Education is delighted to be working with an excellent Alternitve Provision in the Salford area that is looking to appoint a SENCO on a contracted basis as soon as possible until the end of the academic year and beyond.
The ideal candidate will hold a SENCo qualification and have experience of fulfilling all SENCo duties such as: having a good, solid understanding of SEND and feel comfortable providing professional guidance to colleagues, staff & parents as well as outside agencies. The ideal SENCo will directly contribute to the implementation of strategic plans with regards to students' EHCPs. There may also be a small teaching resposibility depending on the timetable and candidate.
As the ideal SENCo will be working in a KS3/4 alterntiave provision setting, a solid understanding of working with secondary-aged students with: SEMH, ADHD and challenging behaviour is essential. Recent experience in a similar role, as detailed above, in either a secondary setting, PRU, Alternative Provision or Special School is an essential aspect of this role.
The Alternative Provision is based across a number of sites in and around Salford. Experienced senior leaders are proud of the alternative provision they offer their students. They provide a tailored enviroment for young people in their care. They very much see each child as unique and want to caters specifically to their individual needs.
The role is full-time with the ideal SENCo overseeing a number of sites in and around Salford. The alternative provision is currently interviewing candidates for this role, so if you have the right experience get in touch ASAP.
