Job Title: SEND Carer
SEND Carers Wanted – Become a SEND Teaching Assistant
Locations: Barnet | Edgware | Camden | Haringey
Pay: £90–£120 per day (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, term-time only
Start: Ongoing – immediate opportunities available
Are you an experienced SEND carer or support worker ready to take the next step into a school-based role?
We’re looking for passionate, patient and reliable individuals to join our team as SEND Teaching Assistants, supporting children and young people with additional needs across North London.
The Role
You’ll work within mainstream and special schools, supporting students with:
Autism (ASC)
ADHD
Speech, language and communication needs
Social, emotional and mental health (SEMH)
Moderate or severe learning difficulties
You’ll help create an inclusive learning environment, providing 1:1 or small group support, assisting with classroom activities, and working closely with teachers and SENCOs to ensure each child reaches their potential.
Training and Progression
We welcome SEND carers, residential support workers, and healthcare assistants who want to transition into education.
You’ll receive ongoing training and mentoring to build your classroom skills and confidence, with clear routes into:
Permanent Teaching Assistant roles
Higher Level Teaching Assistant or Learning Mentor positions
Future pathways into Teacher Training or SEN specialisms
What We’re Looking For
Experience supporting children or adults with SEND
A kind, patient and proactive attitude
Reliability and a genuine passion for inclusion
Availability during school hours (Monday–Friday, term-time)
Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
