Job Title: SEND Primary School Teaching Assistant
A mainstream primary school in Reading is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a pupil with additional needs from September 2026. This is a full-time position, offering £92.63 per day. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support the pupil’s academic, social and emotional development throughout the school day. The role will involve adapting activities, encouraging engagement and helping the child access learning within the classroom environment. Personal care support is required as part of this position, so applicants must be comfortable providing this level of care with dignity and sensitivity. The school is looking for someone patient, reliable and nurturing, with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs. Previous experience working within a school or supporting children with SEND is desirable.
