Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Primary Location: Taunton Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm Daily Pay Rate: £89 Are you passionate about supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Taunton is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 and group support for pupils with ASD. About the Role: • Support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder across the primary age range. • Assist in delivering structured routines and tailored learning activities to promote engagement and independence. • Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to create a safe, calm, and positive learning environment. • Encourage social development and emotional regulation through consistent, nurturing support. What We’re Looking For: • Experience working with children with ASD, ideally in a school or similar educational setting. • A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour and emotional needs. • Understanding of autism-friendly strategies, including visual supports, sensory needs, and structured communication tools. • Strong teamwork and communication skills. • Ability to follow routines, respond flexibly to individual needs, and build trusting relationships with pupils. • A passion for making a lasting difference in the lives of children with additional needs.
