Job Title: SEND Secondary Teaching Assistant
Job Title: SEND Secondary Teaching Assistant Location: SW15, Wandsworth Hours: 8:00am- 4:30pm Pay- Paid to scale We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Secondary Teaching Assistant to join our educational team in Wandsworth. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, behavioural difficulties, complex needs, dyslexia, and speech and language challenges. Key Responsibilities: • Work closely with the lead teacher to plan and deliver personalized educational activities. • Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students with SEND. • Implement strategies to engage students and facilitate meaningful progress in their learning. • Offer one-to-one or small group support to students, addressing individual learning needs and promoting independence. • Monitor and report on students' progress, adapting techniques as necessary. • Encourage positive behaviour and social interactions among students. • Provide assistance with the development and integration of appropriate learning materials. • Liaise with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure consistency in the approach to students’ education and wellbeing. Requirements: • Experience in working with secondary-aged students with SEND. • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with various conditions. • Excellent communication, patience, and empathy. • Commitment to ongoing professional development. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. • Enhanced DBS check required.
