Job Title: SEND Teacher, ASD
SEND Teacher Sutton, South London From Tuesday 1st September; from 8:30am to 3:30pm (Term time only). Competitive, dependent on experience A brand-new specialist school in Sutton needs a passionate SEND teacher! The school is well-resourced with excellent facilities and a fantastic atmosphere, located close to transport links. The pupils supported here are a Year-7 only with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Social Emotional Mental Health and non-verbal needs. This is a great opportunity for a SEN teacher to be involved in shaping a specialist school while making a difference to young people. The role includes: • Teaching a small class of Year 7 pupils ONLY • Assisting pupils with complex special educational needs, including ASD, SEMH, and non-verbal communication needs • Tailoring lessons to the needs and individual Education, Health and Care plans. • Promoting a positive, inclusive learning environment where each child feels valued • Working closely with other school staff. The ideal candidate: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential • Experience working with SEND pupils (school, PRU or specialist provision experience all welcomed) • Excellent communication skills • Patience and compassion with the pupils you are supporting The school is committed to helping their students develop and as a SEND teacher, you will be a key part of their development.
