Location: Greater Manchester area
We are currently seeking resilient, committed and adaptable Class Teachers to work within Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and SEMH settings. This role is ideal for teachers who are passionate about supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, and who are dedicated to creating positive, inclusive learning environments.
You will play a key role in re-engaging learners with education, supporting both their academic progress and personal development, while working closely with wider staff teams to implement effective strategies.
About the Role
As a Class Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH needs and additional barriers to learning. You will take a nurturing, trauma-informed approach, supporting pupils to regulate, re-engage and achieve success both in and beyond the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
• Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons to meet a range of abilities
• Support pupils with SEMH needs to access learning and remain engaged
• Implement behaviour support strategies and promote emotional regulation
• Create a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment
• Adapt curriculum delivery to meet individual learning needs
• Monitor, assess and track pupil progress
• Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs and external professionals
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support re-engagement
• Promote positive behaviour, resilience and independence

Ideal Candidate Profile
We welcome applications from candidates who:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Have experience working with pupils with SEMH needs or within alternative provisions
• Are confident managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
• Understand trauma-informed and inclusive teaching approaches
• Are adaptable, resilient and solution-focused
• Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Are passionate about making a difference to vulnerable learners
Experience within PRUs, SEMH schools, alternative provisions or SEND settings is highly desirable.
