Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant (HI/ Complex Needs)
Axcis Education are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a large SEND school in the Exmouth area of East Devon, to support learners with complex needs, hearing impairment and ASC on a 1:1 and small group basis. An understanding of BSL or Makaton is ideal but not essential. The school take a holistic approach to learning by having a diverse curriculum, and fantastic spaces available for the students to break up their learning with. Students also have the opportunity to leave the classroom for expeditions into the local town and to a forest school setting. - Comfortable and charismatic to work in SEND - Passionate about helping students thrive - Experience working with complex needs and ASC - Calm and supportive The school has a calm and nurturing atmosphere, and therefore successful candidates will be able to support this. The building and grounds are very modern, with all then spaces being thoughtfully designed to cater for every student the school supports. This role is for short term temporary cover, however the right candidate may have the opportunity to secure a longer term placement, and have access to further training and upskilling.
