SEND Teaching Assistant – SLD & Communication Support
Location: Knowle, Warwickshire
Contract Type: Full-time
Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week
Axcis Education is recruiting a skilled Teaching Assistant to support pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and complex communication needs, providing vital in-class and 1:1 support.
The Role:
• Support pupils with SLD in developing communication, social, and life skills
• Deliver personalised 1:1 and small group interventions
• Implement communication strategies, including Makaton or PECs
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, and therapy teams
About You:
• Experience supporting pupils with SLD and complex needs
• Patient, nurturing, and highly adaptable to individual needs
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork-focused
• Knowledge of communication strategies and positive behaviour management
