Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education are working closely with a SEND provision in the Wigan area, who cater predominantly for students with autism and associated needs. The school are looking for a teaching assistant, with SEND experience for a long term role, starting in September. The school is a small, SEND provision with class sizes no bigger than 11 per class. The school provide education and support for students who struggle to remain in mainstream education. The school are looking for a teaching assistant to support their students emotionally and academically, as well as help the class teacher in managing behaviour. The school has a large on site car park, is near public transport links and has a number of brand new facilities including a hydrotherapy pool. The school caters for students with autism, MLD, complex needs, SEMH difficulties and some challenging behaviours. The role will start in September on a full time basis and school hours are 830am - 330pm Monday - Friday. The role will require you to provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs and the candidate applying, must be confident in their behaviour management skills. The candidate, should have some childcare and some SEND experience. You must be happy to work with all age groups and candidates will be expected to provide 1:1 support in some cases. The candidate should be confident, hard working and reliable. Pay for this role starts at £96 per day.
