Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive teaching assistant to support children with autism and complex needs in a school based in Blackburn. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners who require additional support in their educational journey. As a teaching assistant, you will play a key role in creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
An enhanced child an adult DBS is required for this role.
Skills & Experience:
• Previous experience supporting children with autism, special educational needs, or complex needs is highly desirable.
• A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for helping children with additional needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, under the guidance of the class teacher and other school staff.
• Knowledge of personal care procedures and a willingness to provide support as needed.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt your approach based on the individual needs of each child.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work across different school settings and age groups.
• A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, or equivalent) is beneficial but not essential.
This role is Monday to Friday, full-time and part-time roles available. Hours are 8:30-3:30. Day rate starting from £83.50 depending on experience.
