Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Make a Difference in Chard!
Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you want to work with a leading SEND recruitment agency in the UK?
If so, Axcis Education is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team and help create an inclusive, supportive learning environment for students across Chard.
Position Details:
Location: Chard and surrounding areas
Hours: 08:30 - 15:30 (Full-time)
Pay: £85-£95 per day
Must be a driver
About the Role:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development. This is a school where community is at the heart of everything we do, fostering a nurturing space for children to grow creatively and achieve their best in a happy and secure environment.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
• Providing one-on-one and group support to students with SEND and SEMH needs
• Assisting with classroom activities while ensuring students' safety and well-being
• Supporting students' social, emotional, and mental health development
• Working closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to create an inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Carer, or Youth Worker (preferred but not essential)
• A passion for supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs
• Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy
