Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism Support – Primary School – Tower Hamlets
£95–£110 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Tower Hamlets
Axcis are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism. The school has a strong reputation for inclusive practice and a highly supportive SENCO who works closely with staff to ensure pupils receive the right support to thrive.
Situated in the heart of East London, the school benefits from excellent transport links via the DLR, Underground and local bus routes, making it easily accessible from across the city.
About the Role
This role will involve supporting pupils with autism within the classroom and during structured interventions. The successful candidate will help create a calm and engaging learning environment while supporting pupils’ communication, social interaction and independence.
You will:
• Support pupils with autism on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Use structured routines and visual supports to aid learning
• Assist with differentiated classroom activities
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to support EHCP targets

• Experience supporting pupils with autism or SEND
• A patient, calm and nurturing approach
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Full-time availability and commitment to long-term work
