Axcis Education is working with a specialist setting in the SK8 area looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant, in a specialist provision. This role would suit someone who has either personal or professional experience of supporting SEND individuals, Or someone who aspires to work with them and is values driven.
This is a really rewarding role where you’ll be supporting children and young people with complex needs, including autism, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities. You’ll be working closely with students on a 1:1 basis, helping them access learning, build confidence, and develop important life skills.
No two days will look the same you could be supporting in the classroom one moment, then helping with outdoor activities or practical sessions the next.
What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Helping deliver tailored learning activities
• Encouraging independence and communication
• Supporting with **behaviour and personal care where needed**
• Assisting with mobility aids such as **wheelchairs or hoists**
What we’re looking for:
• Someone with experience in care or education (or a strong interest in SEND)
• Candidates with strong values such as resilience, empathy and inclusion
• Although experience is desirable, this is a personality driven role
• A genuine passion for working with young people with additional needs
• Good communication skills and a team player
An enhanced child and adult DBS is required for this role.
