Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant
Wargrave (near Twyford) | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm | £92.63 per day
We are looking for a caring, resilient and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Wargrave. This is a rewarding full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs on a one-to-one basis.
You will play a vital role in helping children access learning, develop their confidence and achieve their potential in a supportive school environment. The school supports pupils with a variety of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex learning needs. The successful candidate will be confident supporting children who may display challenging behaviour and will be comfortable assisting with personal care when required, always promoting dignity and independence.
We're looking for someone with at least one year's experience supporting children with SEND, although we also welcome applicants with transferable experience from roles such as care homes, residential care, healthcare or other support settings. Patience, empathy and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential, along with a genuine passion for helping children succeed.
A full UK driving licence would be an advantage, as Wargrave can be difficult to access using public transport.
In return, you'll join a friendly and inclusive school where your support will make a real difference to a child's education and wellbeing.
