The school supports pupils aged 4–19 with a range of SEND, including ASC, SEMH, ADHD, communication difficulties and additional learning needs. The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and specialist staff to: Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND Support pupils to access learning and achieve their individual EHCP targets Assist with personalised learning programmes and interventions Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development Encourage communication, independence and confidence Provide consistency, structure and reassurance throughout the school day Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider professionals Help maintain a safe, calm and supportive learning environment The Ideal Candidate The school is looking for someone who: Has previous experience working with children or young people with SEND Has a good understanding of ASC, SEMH, ADHD or communication needs Is calm, patient, resilient and consistent Can build strong and positive relationships with pupils Is confident supporting behaviour and emotional regulation Is proactive and able to adapt their approach to individual needs Works well as part of a wider multidisciplinary team Is reliable, enthusiastic and committed to supporting young people Is passionate about helping pupils achieve their potential Experience within a specialist SEND school, alternative provision, residential setting or similar environment would be highly beneficial.
