Job Title: Sports Teaching Assistant
Sports Teaching Assistant – Specialist ASD School (11-18) – Longfield
Location: Longfield
Hours: Full-time (Monday – Friday)
Working Hours:
• Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (3:30 PM finish most days)
Setting: Specialist School for Students (Ages 11-18) with ASD
Focus: Sports, Physical Activity & Outdoor Learning
Are you passionate about sports and physical education? Do you want to use your skills to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? We are looking for a Sports Teaching Assistant to join a specialist ASD school in Longfield, helping students develop their physical skills, confidence, and well-being through sports and outdoor activities.
The Role:
• Supporting students with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) in PE lessons and physical activities.
• Encouraging engagement in sports, fitness, and team-building exercises.
• Assisting in the use of the school’s dedicated outdoor space and horticulture garden.
• Working alongside teachers to create structured and inclusive sports sessions.
• Helping students develop motor skills, coordination, and social interaction through physical activity.
• Managing challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques.
Who We’re Looking For:
? Experience working with students with ASD is desirable.
? A passion for sports, fitness, and outdoor learning.
? Understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs and challenging behaviour.
? A patient, energetic, and motivating approach.
? Ability to create a supportive and structured environment where students can thrive.
