Teacher – Year 1 – Mainstream Primary – Tower Hamlets £170–£230 per day (depending on experience) | QTS Required | Full-Time | Long-Term Axcis are proud to be working with a well-regarded mainstream primary school in Tower Hamlets who are seeking a committed and confident Year 1 SEND Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a full classroom role teaching up to 30 pupils, supported by 2–3 Teaching Assistants to assist with behaviour management and differentiated support. The class includes pupils with additional needs, including global developmental delay and non-verbal communication needs, so experience working in inclusive classrooms is essential. The school places strong emphasis on phonics and early reading, and is looking for a teacher who can deliver structured, engaging lessons while maintaining high expectations for all learners. The school is well connected via Tube and bus routes and has a supportive senior leadership team. In this role, you will: • Plan and deliver high-quality Year 1 lessons aligned to the national curriculum • Lead structured phonics sessions and early literacy development • Differentiate effectively to meet the needs of pupils with SEND • Manage behaviour confidently with support from classroom TAs • Track progress and contribute to assessments and reporting • Work collaboratively with parents and the wider school team What we’re looking for: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential • Strong KS1 experience, ideally Year 1 • Confident delivering phonics-based learning • Experience supporting pupils with SEND within mainstream settings • Commitment to full-time, long-term work A fantastic opportunity for a teacher who thrives in inclusive environments and values teamwork.
