About the Role
Axcis Education is recruiting a passionate and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join the Autism Resourced Provision (ARP) within a supportive mainstream primary school in Ealing.
This role focuses on supporting Upper Key Stage 2 pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and a range of additional SEND needs. You'll play a vital role in providing structured, nurturing, and inclusive support that empowers pupils to access learning, grow in confidence, and develop life skills.
Key Responsibilities
-Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism and complex needs
-Support structured lessons using tools such as Colourful Semantics
-Help implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
-Manage challenging behaviour (e.g. spitting, kicking, swearing) using consistent and appropriate strategies
-Provide personal care support where required
-Promote a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
-Work collaboratively with class teachers, ARP staff, and external professionals
Requirements
-Previous experience supporting children with Autism and SEND in a school setting
- Confidence in managing challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or Colourful Semantics (desirable)
- A patient, kind, and adaptable approach to learning support
- Valid Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
