In this role, you will work closely with classroom teachers and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to support autistic students in their learning and development. Your responsibilities will include: • Providing one-to-one support to autistic pupils, both inside and outside the classroom. • Encouraging social skills development and promoting positive peer interactions. • Assisting with classroom activities, including academic lessons, sensory breaks, and structured play. • Collaborating with other members of the school staff, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists. Requirements: -Previous experience working with autistic children is essential. -Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs are desirable but not essential. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. -A positive and proactive attitude, with a passion for supporting the learning and development of children with special educational needs. -Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
