Job Title: Teaching Assistant, Primary
Axcis Education are recruiting on behalf of a mainstream primary school, who are searching for a Teaching Assistant to join their team. This would be a full time position, until the end of the academic year initially, though likely to continue beyond that. There is potential for a permanent position for the right applicant.
The role involves working 1-1 with a reception aged child. The child is non-verbal and requires assistance with communication. There are no challenging behaviours. Personal care may be required.
Key responsibilities:
• Use alternative communication methods (e.g., visual aids, Makaton) to encourage engagement.
• Supporting their learning, engagement, and personal development
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies.
• Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
• Experience working with Early Years/Primary-aged children, preferably in a school setting.
• An understanding of non-verbal communication strategies (preferred)
• A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
This position is based within a lovely mainstream primary school in Formby. The school was rated as 'good' in its most recent OFSTED inspection, with particular note given to the strength of the senior leadership team and support provided to pupils. There is a car park onsite, as well as good public transport links within walking distance of the school.
